MESOS is headed up by Zachary Kertesz

Born from curiosity and the inherent draw of gathering around the fire, MESOS serves as a conduit for sharing what I’ve learned along my own path. It seeks to engage with and cultivate community while exploring the many ways thermal bathing is practiced around the world.

Zachary Kertesz was born and raised in midcoast Maine. At an early age, he was introduced to Sauna and other hot bathing methods by two of his uncles. After spending nearly a decade and a half as a filmmaker sent on assignments around the world, he returned to Maine determined to find something more rooted in place. A start in construction led to more specific sauna builds, which became a natural fit. Zack has perused a deeper understanding of the practice of sauna, building science, and the community that surrounds both. His efforts are to break down barriers, build technical confidence, and provide practical steps to guide students through the entire process of constructing a high-quality, achievable backyard sauna.
